Why choose the Hotel Bellevue au Lac****?
Because of our long tradition, our wellbeing concept, and our services as one of the best first class hotels in Lugano
Because of our philosophy to be fully dedicated to our guests with:
AAA
Apertura, Allegria, Ambiente (Openness, Joy, Atmosphere)
The Bellevue au Lac is one of the most traditional hotels in Lugano. It was build in 1883 in Florentine style. The main building was first used as an art museum, as you can still see nowadays from the impressive Carrara Marble atrium and staircase. It has operated as a first class hotel since 1898 and has continuously been run by private owners
In 1958, the hotel was purchased by the Charles Bea Foery-Spichtig family
In 1974, two more floors were added to the hotel's three-storey-building. At the same time, the very first solar energy plant in Ticino was installed on the flat roof of the hotel
Charles and Bea Foery-Spichting retire after 27 years and hand the hotel over to their eldest son, Marco Foery
Since 2000, Charles Foery's nephew, Charles J.P. Helbling, has been running the hotel. Ever since, the hotel's infrastructure has been continuously adapted to today's needs: all rooms have been refurbished into modern luxury Executive and Deluxe rooms, spacious Junior Suites and Suites. The hotel also uses cutting edge technology: all rooms have a free and fast Internet connection, a modern television system with LED flat screens, digital and HD reception with 135 TV programmes and 85 radio stations from around the world. In addition, all rooms are equipped with modern air conditioning systems, which can be individually regulated
The conference room 'La Panoramica', on the fifth floor, is built with a magnificent view of Lake Lugano and hosts unforgettable events, conferences and seminars. In 2003, the Bellevue au Lac also joins the largest hotel family in the world - Best Western - a partnership which continues until today
In 2017, the cultural offer for our hotel guests reaches the next level. Our guests have access to the largest hotel library in Switzerland in the Bellevue au Lac with nearly 6000 books on a wide range of subjects and in different languages
The optimisation of our 65 rooms is being continued until today
